"Since retirement, I hadn’t really been doing much of anything other than church related projects. I had no real energy to speak of and I spent most of my days watching TV. When I was diagnosed with cancer, I became preoccupied with researching all things CANCER, praying and reading scripture for encouragement and strength. The opportunity for coaching just as I was finishing my Chemotherapy and I jumped at the chance. Now my days are pleasantly full with walking regularly and yoga, new activities and new learning that improve my body, my spirit, my relationships and my home.
Cornelia will help you identify and explore the changes you want to make in your life and assess your success in making those changes. Her sessions are all about YOU. I don’t think I have talked so much about myself, my wants, my needs, my concerns, in I don’t know how long. There is no rush, no judgement, no pushing, nor prodding. Coaching by Cornelia can be life altering if you are ready for the challenge, but you have to want it and work for it".
"The hardest thing about coaching also ended up being my favorite. Coaching allowed me to address the real issues. I came in with questions. I came in with hurt, but the solution was always me. This is a BIG discovery and something that is often missed. I was never told what to do but assisted in untangling my thoughts and emotions. Unpacking who I was and what I did to define myself. Some of those things NEEDED to change. I was more accepting to that because I felt I discovered it on my own. It’s hard to realize that you are your biggest obstacle and hold yourself accountable for your faults and highlights. I needed that lesson.
The biggest way for me to stop things like procrastinating was to be an avid participant in preparation. I feel more confident when I make decisions. I am less fearful because I have actively set myself up to be ready for whatever I can think of— even in moments when I am taken by surprise, I am still motivated because I know I did my very best to prepare myself for things. I am more aware of my subconscious self and prepared to even handle me being the reason for my lack of motivation".
